CSU, Chico Summer Orientation

Brief: CSU Chico's summer orientation program had an outdated table-based website. This was causing problems when the site needed to be updated or expanded. The summer orientation program was also looking to start a new campaign that was more "fun" then their previous campaign based on puzzle pieces.

Approach: To make maintenance on the site easier, it was redesigned and redeveloped to maximize simplicity without sacrificing style.

Solution: The website was designed using a standard composition to make it easy to use and maintain. I worked with a print designer to design graphics that could be used effectively in both web and print outputs. A three column grid was used to accomodate branding and maximize content readability.

The site was developed according to government standards. This requires the use of strict xhtml, css, and section 508 verification. The mark-up was kept clear and concise to make it as manageable as possible.
